• Local events, club news, school fairs, markets, working bees
• Genuine classifieds, wanted, lost & found, community groups
• Questions and notices that help people who live here
• Local businesses listing what they actually offer

Not here

• Harassment or abuse — no personal attacks, hate, or pile-ons. Disagree with ideas, not people.
• Defamation and naming-and-shaming— don’t make accusations about identifiable people or businesses. If something needs authorities, tell the authorities.
• Misinformation— don’t present rumour as fact; we prioritise sourced, checkable information.
• Scams and spam — no fake listings, get-rich-quick schemes, or repeated reposting. Commercial promotion belongs in the directory or a paid placement, not the noticeboard.
• Other people’s private information — no addresses, phone numbers, photos or details of others without their consent, and nothing identifying children.
• Anything unlawful — including content that infringes copyright (link to sources rather than pasting articles).

How moderation works

Submissions are held for review before publishing. We may edit for clarity, decline without publishing, or remove published items that turn out to break these rules — repeat or serious breaches mean losing posting privileges. Moderation calls are judgement calls; if you think we got one wrong, tell us.

See something that shouldn’t be here? Report it — reports are reviewed first. Removal requests about your own information are covered by the privacy policy.
